Treescape - September 2018

On 11 September, a Humpty Doo local who was ‘cleaning up’ deliberately lit a grass fire. Fanned by a strong afternoon wind and fuelled by Gamba and other exotic grasses, the fire jumped two roads and ripped through the Pandanus forests and woodland bordering the Creek. It was not a bad fire, by Australian standards. The Artist’s 25 years of hand-weeding out exotic grasses had paid off, but it started a cycle of destructive change.
